How to Supply
Protein for IgA Nephropathy patientsHow to Supply Protein for IgA
Nephropathy patientsSome IgA Nephropathy patients suffer from protein urine.
With the lose of protein, patients suffer more such as malnutrition, poor
immunity and so on. so for IgA Nephropathy patients, the supply of protein is
necessary, but we all know that kidney disease patients must follow a strict
protein diet, then how to replenish protein for IgA nephropathy patients.
Generally speaking, IgA Nephropathy patients are given the low protein diet
for too much protein intake can increase the kidney metabolism burden and worsen
the protein urine, leading to further kidney damage. But patients still need
some high quality protein intake to support their normal life and
activities.
Therefore, plant protein such as bean and soy bean products should be avoided
for these foods produce nitrogen which can burden the damaged renal and cause
protein urine, accumulating kidney fibrosis. Besides, excessive nitrogen may
lead to Azotemia. While IgA Nephropathy patients are suggested to take animal
protein, such as lean meat, fish, egg white, milk and so on which can support
the necessary amino acid to human body with much wastes products.
All in all,
the protein intake should be scientific according to the specific physical
conditions of patients. Patients should control the quantity and pay more
attention the quality of protein.
For example, more protein should be taken during dialysis period, especially
peritoneal dialysis. For Nephrotic Syndrome, if patients still posses certain
kidney function, they are suggested to keep high protein diet, because they
loses a large deal of protein through urine. If excessive protein loses, it may
lead to hypoproteinemia, thus inducing Edema. But for patients with renal
insufficient, low protein diet is necessary for protect their kidney
function.
Conditions differs from person to person.
